Bandwidth Meter

Let me ask you one question: How much bandwidth do you have right now? I guess some of you would also question yourself. Bandwidth means a lot to Internet geeks (like me). I would love to know how much bandwidth do I have, every time I want to download or upload something. Bandwidth matters! Of course, Internet access providers know how much bandwidth they should provide to their customers, however, some of them (or most of them), tend to decrease the bandwidth after two or three weeks of customer subscription. I don't know what they are up to, but try to monitor your bandwidth every week, and you'll see that there's a very big difference every week.

Why have I said this? Hmmm. Based on my own experience (Yes!). My bandwidth tends to decrease three weeks after I made my subscription, and I got no idea what happened. And I asked some of the people I know if they've experienced the same thing. And yes, they do have problems with bandwidth, and what do they do? They call the service provider, and after some time.. let's say 30 minutes, the bandwidth will (amazingly) increase.

So, in order for us users, or customers to monitor our bandwidth (and to spend our money well to those internet access providers), here are some websites that i've used, for bandwidth checking:

*Bandwidth refers to how much data you can send and receive through a network connection, interface or a modem. The more bandwidth, the greater the exchange of data. In short, it is the data transfer rate.

*Close all other websites, or cancel upload and download, when using bandwidth meters, in order to have a more accurate results on your current bandwidth status.

There are still a lot of bandwidth meters you can choose from, just search for bandwidth meter, on any search engine.

Computer Technology Comics

Here's a good one and it's a fact. Actually, I tried calling technical support for a telecommunications company, not that I'm stupid like this guy on the comic, I was just trying to inquire something. I was not able to get an answer from my question, and I had a good laugh after that conversation. Why? The agent on the phone was too confident of her answer, but I was too confused if she really does know what she had said. Ahhh.. I guess she knows a little about technical stuff. Being an IT student, I was just strucked by the answer of the agent, because what she said was way too far from the exact or not even related to my question. Oh no! I guess telecommunications companies should hire agents that really knows about tech stuff, even just the concepts, or just the terms like : RJ-45 for instance? Haha.

It's been awhile since I posted another topic on this blog. And, I got no idea what to post, so I started browsing on google.com to search for new technology stuff, I got stumbled on Dell's website.
